Healthy communities have
organizations that provide a range of services for their residents. Affordable
housing, child-care, education, health care services and businesses that
provide convenience and service at an affordable price are part of the spectrum
of services that neighborhood residents need, and that healthy communities
provide. In low-income communities, these services are too often unavailable.
Since 1985, the Loan Fund has helped make these
services available by providing a source of capital for Massachusetts
nonprofit organizations and private developers and businesses with a focus
on building healthier communities. The Loan Fund specializes in lending
to community development corporations, social service agencies, community
organizations and for-profit affordable housing developers. Our lending
process is both financial and social in nature. As we consider new borrowers
and projects, an important question is "How does this loan fit our
mission?" One hundred seventy five organizations have borrowed funds
from the Loan Fund to date, and new potential borrowers fill our pipeline.
The following is a list of our current and past borrowers,
the organizations or programs that are able to provide needed community
services with the help of Boston Community Loan Fund.
